Description: This event is one of SAFE’s two annual events that are open to all clinicians and trainees who are committed to gun violence prevention - this event's focus is Advocacy for Safe Storage specifically.

Attendees heard from Drs. Sandy McKay and Joseph Sakran, both giants in the gun violence prevention advocacy space representing Scrubs Addressing the Firearm Epidemic (SAFE) and Brady, respectively, on gun violence prevention advocacy and how to educate your patients, your community and your legislators on the importance of safe storage laws.

Participants broke into small group rooms (not recorded) and there was some advocacy in action, followed by a debrief session.

Co-hosted by SAFE and Brady, and sponsored by The Center for Violence Prevention at the University of Texas Health in Houston.
